What was your first CrossFit workout: An AMRAP (as many repetitions as possible), that involved running, squats and rowing

Fitness Goals: Since I am in the process of recovering from arm/shoulder injury, my goal is to be able to fully heal. I appreciate the way in which CFTH coaches modify the WODS to help me reach that goal.
Tips for drop-ins: Contact us through our Facebook page, come for a WOD and afterwards walk to the lake (two blocks from the box) to drink a coconut or have brunch while you enjoy the most beautiful view.
Favorite Tourist Site in Hanoi: Walk around Hoan Kiem Lake and visit the temple in the middle of the lake. Wonderful for sight-seeing and people watching.
Favorite place for food in Hanoi: Cau Go Vietnamese Cuisine, very near Hoan Kiem Lake, and with the very best view.

Fitness goals: I love Crossfit because I have become stronger and fitter. It’s the kind of sport that promotes continuous learning- there’s always room for growth, and learning can be exchanged vertically (coach) or horizontally (members). I don’t have specific 3-6-12 month goals but overall aim to go to Crossfit on a regular basis while juggling full-time work and family, continue improving across all domains, avoid injury, and have fun.
Tips for drop-ins: Bring water, especially if you drop in at 6am and the adjascent shops aren’t open yet. If the shops are open, you can usually get a fresh cold coconut at the shop just down Tay Ho street.
Favorite Tourist Site in Hanoi: Old Quarter on a weekend evening – love the streets filled with food stands and plastic stools for beer and people watching.
Favorite place for food in Hanoi: 4Ps for awesome and unique pizzas; Moose and Roo at the American Club for American BBQ classics like pulled pork and ribs; Highway 4 for adventurous Vietnamese cuisine; Sushi Dakoro for Japanese; Salt n’Lime for Mexican; and La Badiane for the splurge.

Favorite Tourist Site in Hanoi: The shores of Westlake at 6am to watch Hanoi wake up, the open air Water Puppet Theatre at the Museum of Ethnology on Sunday mornings, (taoist) Quán Thán Temple at the southern shore of Trúc Bach lake, Hàng Mã street before Tet or Christmas with its overwhelming decoration.
Favorite place for food in Hanoi: For authentic street food: Bún Cha 34 in Hàng Than street, for best Cha Ca: Cha Ca 14 in Cha Ca street, for a “all-in-one-place” street food experience: Quang An Ngon in Pham Boi Chau street, for great Vietnamese food with a stunning view on Hoan Kiem lake: Cau Go, for best Vietnamese-Fusion: Port d’ Annam close to the Cathedral, for best Pizza in Hanoi (if you need a break of Vietnamese food): Da Paolo in Tay Ho, for Cocktails with a perfect view over Hanoi (on a clear day): the sky bar on Lotte tower.

TIPS for Drop-ins:
Favorite Tourist Site in Hanoi: Visit Cho Hom fabric Market on 149Pho Hue, Hai Ba Trung district, Hanoi. Fabulous ambiance and an experience you will not have in your home country. If you like photo documenting your trip, I would not miss the Hanoi en-gros night market. It opens at 11:30 pm and is some sight. You have the men sleeping in hammocks over their wifes’ market stall with piles of ginger, eggplants or spices.
Favorite place for food in Hanoi: Quan An Ngon for classic nothern Vietnamese Food. If you need a break from holiday food, I warmly recommend Zenith Café, which is a vegetarian restaurant, that has an awesome menu and is a great place to get some air from busy Hanoi. And you could even throw in a drop in Yoga session after a WOD at CrossFit Tay Ho. Zenith is located 200 meter from our new box location and they have awesome lunch deals.
