Dee joined us early this year and quickly became an important member and friend. He has been a pleasure to coach and has advanced very quickly in his short time with us. His willingness to learn and his motivation to learn is infectious. Coach Rico has spent a lot of time with Dee, and loves his passion for the sport. Even more so is his true understanding of the bigger picture - the positive impact Crossfit can have on anybody willing to try. According to Coach Rico, Dee is one to watch for the future!
Dee sure is putting in the work, and loves to learn - what an assset to our CFTH community! Here is what he has to say about CFTH:
“Crossfit Tay Ho has been a significant part of my daily routine as well as my life. I didn’t expect to love crossfit and the box that much, but the energy and the community brought to me are phenomenal.”
How long have you been doing Crossfit/how long at CFTH?
I started Crossfit almost a year ago through a foreign friend. At first it was just some short workouts to burn some extra calories as alternative options beside my daily push/pull/leg workouts. The more I started doing Crossfit the more I felt fun and alive so I started to dig deeper into it by myself for 4 months then decided to come to CFTH. It’s been now almost 6 months. CFTH is my first and only box I ever stepped in, like a first love!
Favorite movement/WOD and why?
I used to be afraid of all the movements, even running, but for me Crossfit is never about looking for your comfort zones. Every WOD is challenging for everybody, all levels, because it is about giving your best in every movement and every second. I just simply find all the movements fascinating, so much to learn!
Something positive Crossfit has taught you?
Crossfit comes to me like the rain pouring into a desert, I was so bored doing bodybuilding workouts day by day desperately looking for a dream ripped body. Then Crossfit changed how I defined “Fitness”. I eat big, train hard, and eventually just felt great after doing a WOD, which makes me extremely positive everyday.
Any advice for someone just starting?
I would say “Come to the box, magic happens”, believe in your coaches, the process and just enjoy the company of others going through “hell” with you!
How long have you been in Hanoi?
I am from here, being a local and training with expats everyday is amazing. We are sharing ideas, experiences and culture all over the world which makes the box much much interesting to me.
Favorite thing to do in Hanoi (outside of Crossfit)?
I would say the food here are tremendous, never get bored of the foods.
Favorite thing to eat in Hanoi?
Bun Cha, Pho, Banh Cuon, Banh My, Hotpot!
