Rico Viglianti, Co-Owner & CrossFit Coach (Level 1 Certified)

Rico started Crossfit in 2015 after looking for an alternative to playing competitive Rugby and becoming uninspired by years of Chest and Triceps, Back and Biceps training in globo-gyms. After seeing Jason Khalipa and Dan Bailey doing the Iron Triathlon on Youtube, he signed up for a trial at Crossfit Nottingham, UK. Within 4 months, he found himself fully immersed in the sport, the lifestyle and the community - making friends for life. After a number of years competing around the UK,  Rico earned his CrossFit L1 certification with the ambition to help spread the word and educate people on the physical and mental benefits of the methodology. In 2019 Rico became Co-owner/Head Coach at CrossFit Tay Ho and has since dedicated his time towards growing and developing a supportive and motivational place for members to train and overcome their moments of self-doubt by achieving things they never thought possible. Rico also programs and coaches our sessions tailored towards competitive athletes - preparing them for the specific demands and challenges involved in competitive CrossFit.

Katie McGrain, Co-Owner & CrossFit Coach (Level 1 Certified)

Hailing from the East Coast of The USA, Katie brings a passion for fitness to the CrossFit Tay Ho community. When Katie discovered CrossFit in July 2013, her life was forever changed. It started out as a means to stay fit and ready for other athletic endeavors like soccer, skiing and running. But soon turned into her passion. In August 2017, she moved to Hanoi, making sure to live near the only CrossFit Box in the city, CrossFit Tay Ho. She was sure that this box was where she would spend the majority of her time. She wasn’t wrong. Through CrossFit Tay Ho, she grew even more passionate about health and fitness. Traveling around Asia for competitions, and getting to know the Asian CrossFit community fueled her to pursue CrossFit as more than just a passion project. In April 2019, she received her Level 1 Certificate and began coaching part time at CrossFit Tay Ho. Katie loves seeing how CrossFit changes lives - physically, mentally, and emotionally . When she isn’t at the box, she is likely traveling the world (and dropping into other CrossFit boxes!).

Renate Muller, CrossFit Coach (Level 2 Certified)

Renate started doing CrossFit in 2013 after looking for a change of pace after running was her main form of training. She ran the Pittsburgh marathon in 2012, and continued running a half marathon each year after that. CrossFit had an immensely positive impact on her running. In January of 2016 Renate did her CrossFit Level 1 certification in Columbus, Ohio, the home of Rogue Fitness, and was appointed as the head coach of a community box in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. 2016 was her year for competing and she was part of a variety of competition teams. Renate has five years experience in training a vast variety of athletes for whom she also wrote programs and tailored WODs. In June of 2019, she furthered her CrossFit knowledge by completing her Level 2 certification. Renate's passion and dedication to health is all encompassing as she is also a qualified registered Neuro Critical Care nurse but will be taking a break from nursing while she is here in Vietnam and will help improve CrossFit Tay Ho members' health and fitness.

Rebecca, CrossFit Coach (Level 1 Certified)

Late 2014 Rebecca walked into a CrossFit box, from then she never looked back. For Rebecca, CrossFit was a means to improve running times, instead it became the catalyst for her career in Health & Fitness. After achieving her Personal Training certificate, Sports Massage accreditations and Dry Needling certificate she spent the following years working in a variety of gyms across Nottingham building her experience and further qualifications. In 2016 she began shadowing and assisting at CrossFit Nottingham, later achieving her CrossFit Level 1 certification and going on to become the Gym Manager. In 2019 Rebecca joined the CrossFit Tay Ho team to continue her career and passion in Health and Fitness.
