“I’m not fit enough to do CrossFit!”
“Hmmm… I need to get fit before I try that stuff!” Self-doubt and finding reasons to not start things is something we all experience. There also seems to be a common mis-perception of CrossFit. It’s intense and hard work and there is a prerequisite level of skill and fitness required to start doing it. We’ve all seen the athletes on Netflix and Nike commercials and there’s no denying it takes years of hard graft to get to that level! However, for the majority of us, CrossFit is about becoming better versions of ourselves day by day. We all started somewhere and we have people of varying backgrounds and abilities training at our box. You start wherever your fitness level is and BUILD on it from there. To build big towers, you need strong foundations. With this in mind, in May we launched an essentials course for all new members. This compulsory one week (3 session) course provides new members with the basics in movement, technique and terminology. At CrossFit Tay Ho, our aim is to ensure all members are moving safely and confidently throughout their workouts. By exposing new members to the common movements and movement patterns we use in the gym, members should feel able to do any workout that is written on the board when they arrive at group classes. The courses are capped at 6 people to make sure you are getting the individual attention you need from your Coach. The course is also a great opportunity to get to know your Coach and fellow new members before joining the group class environment. All leading to you being able to train with us effectively, and become a better version of yourself each day. So, NO MORE EXCUSES! Come and join in the fun. Sign up to our next ESSENTIALS course - held on the 3rd week of every month and start you CrossFit journey with us. Get started and Sign Up Here! Comments are closed.
