Lewis joined CFTH in February 2019 and came out guns firing! After just a couple of weeks getting in the groove of things, he jumped right into the Crossfit Open. His desire to improve, practice and grow as an athlete is very evident. He is consistent and puts in the wor and has seen awesome results because of it.
How long have you been doing Crossfit/how long at CFTH?
I've been a member at CFTH since mid-February and it's my first experience of Crossfit.
Favorite movement/WOD and why?
I joined just before The Open this year so 19.1 (rowing and wallball shots) has a place in my heart... weirdly. Other than that, I love anything with a bar, especially snatches.
Something positive Crossfit has taught you?
Crossfit has taught me to take on the exercises and movements that I may have avoided previously. This has taught me that maybe some things never get easier, but this doesn't mean you can't get better at them.
Any advice for someone just starting?
It's easy to compare yourself to others when you first start and as soon as you stop doing that, you'll start to see huge improvements. Listen to the coaches, trust the workouts and scale (tailor the workouts to you)!
How long have you been in Hanoi?
I moved to Hanoi in mid-January.
Favorite thing to do in Hanoi (outside of Crossfit)?
The crossfit community is amazing but so is the general community in Hanoi. You will always find someone in the boat as you, at the same stage and/or wanting the same thing. There's always something to do, whatever day of the week it is and getting to know new people is always fun.
Favorite thing to eat in Hanoi?
Sticky rice for breakfast after a 5.30am workout!
